Centro de Investigaciones en Salud Indígena
Desde 2007, Maya Health Alliance ha sido líder en el desarrollo de soluciones prácticas para mejorar la calidad de la atención médica en las comunidades rurales e indígenas de Guatemala. El Centro de Investigación en Salud Indígena (Centro de Investigación en La Salud Indígena o CISI) fue fundado por un grupo multidisciplinario de investigadores de Maya Health Alliance, con el objetivo de avanzar en las investigaciones científicas sobre las necesidades de salud de estas comunidades. Los investigadores del CISI provienen de diversos orígenes, pero compartimos un interés en temas centrales (enfermedades no transmisibles, como el cáncer y la diabetes; desnutrición crónica y seguridad alimentaria; sociedad civil y el estudio del “desarrollo”; y género y salud). También compartimos interés en ciertos enfoques metodológicos, especialmente en métodos mixtos, antropología aplicada y ciencia de implementación.
